本模塊是出自《新標準英語(yǔ)》第七冊第一模塊第二單元，Module 1 Unit 2《New York is in the east of America.》本冊教材內容主要通過(guò)講述某個(gè)地方的地理位置和相關(guān)的基本信息.來(lái)繼續學(xué)習east, south, west, north,幫助學(xué)生復習這些單詞。并更進(jìn)一步用east, south, west, north,這些單詞，來(lái)描述描述各省所在的方位及國家的方位。
學(xué)情分析
六年級的學(xué)生對方位的學(xué)習有了一定的基礎，授課時(shí)以任務(wù)型學(xué)習為基礎，采用聽(tīng)說(shuō)法，情景法，交際法，多媒體輔助法等教學(xué)方法。帶動(dòng)學(xué)生用新學(xué)語(yǔ)言進(jìn)行交流。體現英語(yǔ)學(xué)科“語(yǔ)言形式和內容相融合 ” 、“學(xué)以致用”的.課改精神。六年級學(xué)上有一定的自學(xué)能力和自控能力，課前做好布置預習任務(wù)，是非常重要的。

2.能力目標：講述某個(gè)地方的地理位置和相關(guān)的基本信息.。
3.情感目標：通過(guò)兩人合作,描述各省所在的方位，培養學(xué)生合作學(xué)習的精神。

教學(xué)過(guò)程
1.熱身復習
老師出示一張中國地圖并進(jìn)行介紹:This is a map of China. I’m from Guilin . It’s in the south of China.然后向學(xué)生提問(wèn):Where are you from/ Where is your uncle from? Where is your pen friend from?
2.課文導入
老師出示Simon的圖片,向學(xué)生提問(wèn):Who is he? 學(xué)生回答:He’s Simon. He’sDaming’s cousin.再問(wèn):Where is he from?學(xué)生回答:He’s from New York, America.
出示美國地圖并向學(xué)生提問(wèn):This is a map of America. Can you find New York? here is New York?引導學(xué)生回答：New York is in the east of America.點(diǎn)題：老師將課文題目板書(shū)。
在地圖上標注east, south, west, north（邊拍手邊/或做動(dòng)作，根據句子分別指上、下、左、右）復習Chant:
Up is north, north ,
Down is south, south ,
Left is east, east ,
Right is west, west .
�。ㄗ⒁饧m正他們的發(fā)音.讓全班來(lái)一遍后讓各組比賽一下看哪組最標準、最整齊、最響亮,可以設計一個(gè)學(xué)生說(shuō)單詞，其他學(xué)生搶答單詞并做動(dòng)作，【可以省略：根據口令做動(dòng)作lease turn to north. Please turn to South. Please turn to east Please turn to west.】）
3.課文教學(xué)
老師問(wèn)：“Do you know where these cities are?”老師引導學(xué)生聽(tīng)錄音里面的城市，然后放錄音,學(xué)生邊聽(tīng)邊看SB2 Unit 2活動(dòng)1的地圖,讓學(xué)生踴躍上黑板寫(xiě)出自己聽(tīng)到的城市（如果比較難寫(xiě)，可以帶書(shū)本），把錄音中提到的美國城市和國家名稱(chēng)寫(xiě)在黑板上.再放錄音,請學(xué)生跟讀，糾正發(fā)音.
老師把所有單詞重復一遍，然后通過(guò)問(wèn)答展現句型Where is New York? It’s in the east of America. What about San Francisco? It’s in the west of America……
老師問(wèn)Where is …，學(xué)生搶答。突然老師問(wèn)Where is Canada? 【學(xué)生可能會(huì )答錯，老師就可以引出另外一種不包含表達法�！�
老師說(shuō):Where is Canada? It’s north of America. Where is Mexico? It’s south of America.
句型比較：Where is New York? It’s in the east of America.
Where is Canada? It’s north of America.
�。ㄒ龑W(xué)生發(fā)現這種表達與第一種表達法在方位上有什么不同.因為加拿大和墨西哥在美國領(lǐng)土以外,所以表達方法不同.）
4、課堂檢測
1. （很驚喜的表情）老師快速指地圖上的某個(gè)城市或某個(gè)國家，讓學(xué)生搶答。
2．學(xué)生上臺對話(huà)練習
ask and answer in pairs（小組內兩人一組相互問(wèn)答）Where is…？ It’s in the…
5.課文學(xué)習
請學(xué)生邊聽(tīng)邊看,熟悉韻詩(shī)的內容.著(zhù)重學(xué)習Tennessee,再放錄音,學(xué)生跟讀.掌握Chant后【學(xué)生邊拍手邊chant】,完成AB Unit2練習3.再聽(tīng)錄音,根據錄音判斷練習中陳述是否正確.
6、小結歸納
學(xué)生自主總結。再回到板書(shū)上，老師快速指某個(gè)城市或國家，一組同學(xué)問(wèn)Where is …，另外一組同學(xué)答：It’s …
7.課后作業(yè):SB Unit2活動(dòng)3聽(tīng)錄音模仿語(yǔ)音語(yǔ)調,特別注意句子中的重音部分.
