翻譯資格考試技巧內容
有些譯作總體上說(shuō)是高質(zhì)量的，但也有望文生義的現象，如不屬于本文上述五個(gè)方面的原因，則可能是疏忽大意所致。
1. Feedback, which one-way communication like the printed page fails to provide, makes learning easy and, in the case of motor skills,is essential.
[誤譯]反饋能使學(xué)習變得方便，而象印刷品之類(lèi)的單向信息傳遞就沒(méi)有反饋。在學(xué)習駕駛摩托車(chē)時(shí)，反饋更必不可少。
[分析]in the case of“就…來(lái)說(shuō)（而言），論到，提到，至于”。Motors skills 是教育學(xué)上的'名稱(chēng)，指“運動(dòng)技能”，而不是指“摩托車(chē)駕駛”。
[正譯] ……就運動(dòng)技能而言，反饋更必不可少。
2. The results of that decision can now be evaluated as the first ships of the new gas turbine Navy far enough advanced to enable a comparison to be made with existing steam turbine warships.
[誤譯] ……，并以英海軍第一艘先進(jìn)的新型燃氣輪機艦只與現有蒸汽輪機艦只相比來(lái)估價(jià)這個(gè)決定的結果。
[按]將first 誤譯為“第一艘”，將advanced誤為“先進(jìn)的”，均系不認真嚴肅所致。
[正譯]現在可以來(lái)評論這一決定的結果了，因為英國海軍首批新燃氣輪機艦只已大有進(jìn)展，足以用來(lái)和現有的汽輪機軍艦作一比較。
3. There is generally an advantage in being able to keep propelling machinery as far aft as a large gearbox restricts possible, but this positioning.
[誤譯]一般來(lái)說(shuō)，使推進(jìn)裝置盡可能遠離艦尾是有利的，但是這樣布置會(huì )受到大齒輪箱的限制。
[分析]如far aft 譯為“遠離艦尾”，意思就完全顛倒了。此處far相當于much,considerably,to a great extent. Aft [a : ft ]非常接近船尾。由于“盡可能接近艦尾”這一概念已相當明確，故“非�！笨刹蛔g出。
[正譯]一般來(lái)說(shuō)，使推進(jìn)裝置盡可能靠近艦尾是有利的，但是這種布置會(huì )受到大齒輪箱的限制。
最后尚須指出，有時(shí)望文是由多種因素所造成，請看下面的句子系受詞匯、專(zhuān)業(yè)、習慣等影響。
In practice ,a rotor weighing about 10 tons and rotating at 3,000 r .p . m . may be so well balanced that the motion ,except for sound ,is just perceptible.
實(shí)際上，一根據重約10噸、每分鐘3000轉的轉子可以平衡得非常好，以致除了響聲外，人們幾乎覺(jué)察不出它是在轉動(dòng)。
[分析]此處just =almost not, hardly 曾誤譯為“正好覺(jué)察得出……”，這樣意思就反了。
