  the noise went on and on. it was so loud that i could hardly pay attention to my study any longer. so i went to my neighbors house and said to him, "ecuse me, would you please turn down the tv? im preparing for tomorrows eamination." having heard these words, his face went red. and he said, "ok, ill turn it down. li hua, im very sorry to have made so much noise.just now, the football was very wonderful.

  i was too ecited to control myself. i wont do that again. good luck in your coming eamination." after that, i got down to my study.

  When I came back from Singapore, it was already the 1st of August. The ten-hour trip made me so tired. As soon as I got home, my father gave me a card. There were some words on it: New Oriental, NEC II.

  I was not happy but I had to go to Shanghai to learn English. One of the New Oriental’s students said, “To love someone maybe needs one minute; to love English just needs a lesson.” I have been interested in English since my first class at New Oriental.

  My teacher has a lovely and beautiful name: Angela. She is very beautiful and humorous. She told us about her life, her dream and her friends. She let us learn English in films, games and in many other ways.

  Ever since then, I have felt a new kind of love for English. It is really very interesting!

  However,on the other hand, there are some problems caused by computer using. Forexample, a flood of the computer games have been a great threat for the growthand development of some children and students, and even some adults. They areaddicted to computer games so terrible that they can never concentrate on theirstudy and work but only play games day and night. It has been a tremendousworry for their parents.

  Takingits advantages and disadvantages into consideration, I suggest that we takefull use advantages of its advantages and avoid its disadvantages as much aspossible.

  some students are very good at learning english pronunciation. they speak the language beautifully. other students, however, find it difficult to learn accurate english pronunciation. what, then makes the difference?

  there are, in my opinion, four reasons that account for the difference. first, and perhaps the most significant, was the mother tongue. the closer the students own language is to english to start, the greater the chance of achievement. secondly, the learners attitude to pronunciation makes the difference. students who believe in the importance of pronunciation tend to make more progress.

  thirdly, contacting with native speakers of the language has strong positive effects on pronunciation. fourthly, and possibly the least important, was the students own natural ability. agoodear and the ability to imitate help, but are far less significant than the other three factors.

  we cant change the first factor--the mother tongue--but we can control the second and the third. therefore we can have considerable influence over our own progress with pronunciation.
