　　Ladies and gentlemen , good afternoon! i’m very glad to stand here and give you a short speech. today my topic is “youth”. i hope you will like it , and found the importance in your youth so that more cherish it.

　　first i want to ask you some questions:

　　1、do you know what is youth?

　　2、how do you master your youth?

　　youth is not a time of life, it is a state of mind ; it is not rosy cheeks , red lips and supple knees, it is a matter of the emotions : it is the freshness ; it is the freshness of the deep springs of life .

　　youth means a temperamental predominance of courage over timidity of the appetite , for adventure over the love of ease. this often exists in a man of 60 more than a boy of 20 . nobody grows old merely by a number of years . we grow old by deserting our ideals.

　　years wrinkle the skin , but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul . worry , fear , self –distrust bows the heart and turns the spirit back to dust .

　　whether 60 of 16 , there is in every human being ‘s heart the lure of wonders, the unfailing childlike appetite of what’s next and the joy of the game of living . in the center of your heart and my heart there’s a wireless station : so long as it receives messages of beauty , hope ,cheer, courage and power from men and from the infinite, so long as you are young .

　　女士們,先生們,下午好!我很高興站在這里給你們一個(gè)簡(jiǎn)短的演講。今天我的主題是“青年”。我希望你能喜歡它,在你年輕的時(shí)候,發(fā)現的重要性,更珍惜它。

　　首先我想問(wèn)你一些問(wèn)題:

　　1,你知道什么是青春?

　　2,如何掌握你的青春呢?

　　青春不是生命的一段時(shí)間,而是一種精神狀態(tài),它不是玫瑰色的臉頰,紅色的嘴唇和柔軟的膝蓋,這是一個(gè)重要的情感:它是新鮮的,它是生命的深泉在涌流。

　　青春意味著(zhù)戰勝懦弱的那股大丈夫氣概的食欲,對冒險的愛(ài)。這通常存在于一個(gè)60歲的人比一個(gè)20歲的青年更多一點(diǎn)。人老不僅僅是許多年。我們理想的毀滅,人類(lèi)才出現了變老。

　　歲月,衰微只及肌膚;熱忱拋卻,頹廢必致靈魂。擔心,恐懼,自我不信任弓精神回到心靈扭曲,意氣如灰。

　　無(wú)論是60歲的16歲,每個(gè)人的心奇跡的誘惑,孩提般求知的渴望和游戲的快樂(lè )的生活。你的心和我的心的中心有一個(gè)無(wú)線(xiàn)電臺:只要它接收消息的美、希望、鼓勵、勇氣和力量的男性和無(wú)限的,只要你是年輕人。
