第一部分:點(diǎn)多句少,內容具體
結論段的第一部分為提出具體建議,在寫(xiě)此類(lèi)句子時(shí),考生應明確常用的寫(xiě)作角度,并提前策劃好該類(lèi)句子的常用寫(xiě)作結構,準備相應的參考句型,這樣才能在考場(chǎng)上發(fā)揮自如。
1. 寫(xiě)作角度
在寫(xiě)作中提具體建議時(shí),考生既可以從宏觀(guān)層面的角度提,也可以從微觀(guān)層面的角度提。
就宏觀(guān)層面來(lái)說(shuō),考生可以從以下五個(gè)角度來(lái)考慮:①是否需要立法;②是否需要制訂計劃;③是否需要投資;④是否需要進(jìn)行區域和國際合作;⑤是否需要建立支持、監督和反饋機制。
就微觀(guān)層面來(lái)說(shuō),考生可以從以下三個(gè)角度來(lái)考慮:①媒體是否應該加強宣傳;②公眾是否應該保持理性或積極合作的態(tài)度;③公眾是否應該采取實(shí)際行動(dòng)。
筆者曾將考研英語(yǔ)大作文經(jīng)?疾榈脑(huà)題分為八大范疇(注:見(jiàn)本刊20xx年6月號文章《考研英語(yǔ)圖畫(huà)作文備考策略》)。在這八大范疇中,環(huán)境保護類(lèi)、媒介類(lèi)、交通類(lèi)和文化類(lèi)等話(huà)題是宏觀(guān)類(lèi)話(huà)題,考生寫(xiě)作時(shí)既可以從宏觀(guān)層面的'角度來(lái)寫(xiě),也可以從微觀(guān)層面的角度來(lái)寫(xiě);而對于體育類(lèi)、人生態(tài)度類(lèi)、代際關(guān)系類(lèi)、娛樂(lè )健康類(lèi)等更與個(gè)人直接相關(guān)的微觀(guān)類(lèi)話(huà)題而言,則最好從微觀(guān)層面的角度來(lái)寫(xiě)。
不過(guò),筆者雖然提出了多種寫(xiě)作角度,但鑒于結論段只需寫(xiě)3~4句話(huà),考生構思考研英語(yǔ)大作文時(shí)不必面面俱到,只需挑兩個(gè)自己擅長(cháng)又切合作文主題的角度來(lái)寫(xiě)即可。換句話(huà)說(shuō),結論段的一大寫(xiě)作策略是“點(diǎn)多句少”,考生需時(shí)刻謹記。
2. 句子結構
考生在策劃結論段“提建議”的句子時(shí),需要注意兩點(diǎn):一是句子的主語(yǔ)不能太虛;二是盡量避免寫(xiě)空話(huà)。下面我們通過(guò)實(shí)例分析來(lái)對這兩點(diǎn)作具體說(shuō)明。
● 句子主語(yǔ)不能太虛
“句子主語(yǔ)不能太虛”指的是考生在寫(xiě)結論段時(shí)盡量不要一味地使用第一人稱(chēng)we作主語(yǔ),以避免使文章的主語(yǔ)顯得單調乏味、缺乏變化。下面我們以20xx年考研英語(yǔ)大作文真題“旅途之余”為例,來(lái)看看一名考生就這個(gè)話(huà)題寫(xiě)的文章結論段。
To solve this problem, first, we should establish a monitoring and feedback mechanism to keep environmental protection on the right track. Second, we should amend relevant rules and regulations. Third, we must observe these rules and regulations. Only in these ways can we have a brilliant future and maintain a sustainable development.
點(diǎn)評:在這個(gè)結論段中,表示具體建議的句子都寫(xiě)得比較清楚,但是這幾個(gè)句子使用的主語(yǔ)都是we,使用的句式也較為雷同(如“we should …”“we must …”等),這使整個(gè)段落顯得單調、乏味。但如果我們稍微變換一下各個(gè)句子的主語(yǔ),便能達到表意更明確、句式更多樣的效果。再看下面變換主語(yǔ)之后的結論段。
To solve this problem, it is important for the central authority to establish a monitoring and feedback mechanism to keep environmental protection on the right track. For another thing, the departments concerned are expected to amend relevant rules or regulations. As for the tourists, they must be required to observe such rules or regulations. If we can identify the cause of the problem, we can certainly find its cure.
點(diǎn)評:修改后的句子變換了相應的主語(yǔ),同時(shí)在句式上也作了相應的變化,使整個(gè)段落的意思表達更具體、明確,內容也更豐富多樣。
● 盡量避免寫(xiě)空話(huà)
有些考生喜歡使用“我們應該增強意識,采取廣泛具體的行動(dòng),才有美好未來(lái)”之類(lèi)的空話(huà)來(lái)寫(xiě)結論段。這種寫(xiě)法雖能“應付”宏觀(guān)類(lèi)的寫(xiě)作話(huà)題,但會(huì )使文章顯得過(guò)于空泛,沒(méi)有實(shí)質(zhì)性?xún)热。而當?xiě)作話(huà)題是愛(ài)心、信心、友誼等微觀(guān)類(lèi)話(huà)題時(shí),考生如果使用上述空話(huà),會(huì )顯得有些風(fēng)馬牛不相及。因而,在寫(xiě)作結論段的第一部分時(shí),考生應將實(shí)際行動(dòng)寫(xiě)出來(lái)。
3. 參考句型
除了不要一味使用主語(yǔ)we外,為了避免結論段句式過(guò)于單調,考生還應盡量減少使用should、must、ought to等表示“應該”“必須”的詞匯。下面列舉幾個(gè)重要句型供考生參考。
、 The central authority is supposed to +動(dòng)詞 …
、 The governmental departments at local levels are obliged to +動(dòng)詞 …
、 It is important for the general public to +動(dòng)詞 …

上文提到,當面對微觀(guān)類(lèi)話(huà)題時(shí),考生在寫(xiě)作時(shí)應將具體的實(shí)際行動(dòng)寫(xiě)出來(lái),而不能寫(xiě)“增強意識”“立法”“計劃”之類(lèi)較為空泛的話(huà)。下面筆者就幾個(gè)常見(jiàn)的微觀(guān)類(lèi)話(huà)題提供幾個(gè)“提建議”的參考例句。
、 As for the youth, they are supposed to extend a helping hand and treat other people with sincerity. (適用于“愛(ài)心”“友誼”等話(huà)題)
、 As for the youth, they are supposed to think independently and cultivate their analytical and problem solving abilities. (適用于“教育”話(huà)題)
、 As for the youth, they are supposed to take on challenges, keep grace under pressure, but most important of all, strive for a goal. (適用于“信心”“獨立”“自強不息精神”“成功”等話(huà)題)
、 As for the youth, they are supposed to shoulder responsibility rather than shift it to other people. (適用于“養老”“社會(huì )責任”等話(huà)題)
、 As for the youth, they are supposed to observe relevant rules and regulations. The best philosophy is to learn self-control. (適用于“網(wǎng)絡(luò )”“行為自律”等話(huà)題)
第二部分:不求具體,重在概括
結尾句是表示段落總結的句子,因而其內容不要求具體,重在概括。下面筆者就從寫(xiě)作角度和參考例句兩部分來(lái)詳細講解。
1. 寫(xiě)作角度
結尾句一般以1~2句為宜,筆者建議考生從以下三個(gè)角度構思結尾句:①敘述“通過(guò)上述方式,我們才能迎來(lái)美好的未來(lái)/持續發(fā)展/健康和諧的生活”;②闡述“問(wèn)題很復雜,需要從各個(gè)方面綜合努力解決”;③闡述“人類(lèi)的態(tài)度對事件發(fā)展起著(zhù)關(guān)鍵性的作用”。
2. 參考例句
根據上面提到的寫(xiě)作角度,考生可以寫(xiě)出很多結尾句。下面列舉幾例供考生參考。
、 To sum up, this issue is so complicated that it seems in vain to seek simple solutions to it. Above all, it is people’s actions that count for the most in this issue.
、 To sum up, it is important to take all aspects into consideration and attach each of them due weight.
、 Anyway, in view of the complexity of this issue, it is essential that we treat it from social, economical and cultural perspectives.
、 In a word, if we treat this issue with sincerity and enthusiasm, a brilliant future will be waiting for us.
、 If we can identify the cause of the problem, we can find its cure.
另外,在教學(xué)過(guò)程中發(fā)現很多考生寫(xiě)作時(shí)常常引用名人名言來(lái)作為文章結尾句,希望以此為文章增加亮點(diǎn)。但筆者對此做法不敢茍同,原因有二:一是名人名言范疇很廣,數量太多,背誦會(huì )占用大量的時(shí)間,并非是一種高效的備考策略;二是考研英語(yǔ)大作文寫(xiě)作話(huà)題靈活,考生能否恰到好處地使用名人名言結尾也是一個(gè)很大的問(wèn)題。所以筆者建議考生寫(xiě)結尾句時(shí)慎用名人名言。
實(shí)戰演練
下面筆者以20xx年考研英語(yǔ)大作文真題“你一條腿,我一條腿;你我一起,走南闖北”為例,結合上面講述的寫(xiě)作方法來(lái)分析如何寫(xiě)作文章的結論段。
從圖畫(huà)和文字說(shuō)明可以看出,20xx年考研英語(yǔ)大作文的主題是“互助精神”(mutual support)。這顯然是一個(gè)微觀(guān)類(lèi)的話(huà)題,考生在提出具體建議時(shí),可以從微觀(guān)層面的角度來(lái)提,如媒體加強宣傳、公眾落實(shí)行動(dòng)等。對于結尾句,考生可以從“人們的態(tài)度在這一事件中起著(zhù)重要作用”這一角度來(lái)寫(xiě)。在確定好相應的寫(xiě)作角度后,考生便可以利用上述列舉的參考句型(例句)或自己設計的句型來(lái)進(jìn)行結論段的寫(xiě)作。下面提供一個(gè)結尾的范例來(lái)供考生參考。
To advocate the spirit of mutual support in our society, it is important for journalists to make clear the importance of mutual support in people’s daily life. Back in 1986, during my last year of high school, there was a radio trivia contest to win tickets to a concert. I didn’t have much money, but I really wanted to go see this particular group, so I sat myself beside the radio one Monday morning, phone in hand, and waited. Now, my head has always been overflowing with completely useless information –probably more so at that time in my life– so I knew I stood just as good a chance as anybody else. Finally, they asked the question: “What was David Bowie’s theatrical rock-star persona backed by the Spiders from Mars?” I dialed as quickly as I could, but (hampered by my old rotary phone, no doubt) I was not the first, and so didn’t win the tickets. For three more mornings, I did the same, each time knowing the answer, but failing to be the first to call. On that Friday, however, the question was much harder: “Whose band did Canadian singer Gowan borrow for the recording of his Strange Animal LP?” This time I won the tickets. The answer, by the way, is Peter Gabriel, who was recording in the same studio around the same time.)
I was proud of my accomplishment, elated by that vindication of the sheer width and breadth of the mostly impractical data stogged tight into my brain. It seems a little foolish in retrospect, but the accumulation of knowledge was –for me– the most distinguishing facet of my self-identity.
Back then, information was far less transitory. I remember reading and studying endlessly, trying to retain every nugget of information I could, whether it was useful or not. Now, I have become lazy. When a question is asked and I don’t know the response, a quick search on the Net will generally take me directly to the right information. The question answered, the details then drop away from my mind, and I usually forget it completely. I suspect most people do this nowadays, relying upon the Net far more than memory. When someone dials a friend from Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, are they really choosing their most knowledgeable friend, or simply the fastest with Google? Who would you phone?

With ever-increasing living standard, people pay growing preference to traveling. And the week-long holiday is precisely a favorable option for the traveling-eager people, through which they can free themselves from the endless and pressing work temporarily and gain some entertainment. Besides, the traveling during the week-long holiday does boost business tremendously in our country.
However, just as a saying goes, every coin has two sides. While the week-long traveling endows us with a lot of benefits, it also brings about some problems which cannot be ignored. Here go some of the problems. To begin with, the traveling during the golden week may over push the business, triggering off a overheated economy. Secondly, during the holiday, innumerable traveling expeditions are flocking to the bus stations, train stations and airports, causing tedious traffic jams and thus adding some undesirable matters to the should-be-gleeful trip. Too heavy traffic not only delays the time of arriving at the destination, but is also the source of traffic accidents. Last but not least, the nonstop-growing visitors’ pouring into the resorts will downright overload the places of interest and invoke some unwelcome damages to the relics. It is widely acknowledged that our treasury department spend a large amount of money preserving the damaged relics.
From my perspective, I do hold that the disadvantage of the week-long travel outweighs its advantage. To maximize its negative impact, I think we can shorten the span of the holiday by adding more holidays to the traditional Chinese festivals such as mid-autumn festival, tomb-sweeping day, etc. this on the one hand can release all the negative effects mentioned above, and on the other hand place more emphasis to our traditional culture.
