  Before I started at university,I took my first job as a waitress in a nice restaurant.At the night before my first day.I was too excited to go to sleep and as a result,I got up late in the morning.I threw on my clothes and rushed over to the restaurant.

  In a GREat hurry,I didn't hear clearly the head waiter's instruction that we should go into the kitchen through one door and out from the other.So when I took two plates of eggs and bacon and an orange juice out to the restaurant,I went straight towards the wrong door and collided with another waiter coming in!

  Worst of all was that I wore a pair of smart shoes but with high heels! A few hours later I was in agony yet had no time to change them. By the time we finished serving dinner at about 10:30 I was completely exhausted. Nevertheless, I learnt something through my experience.

  上課我們不僅可以學(xué)習還可以,在快樂(lè )中學(xué)習。讓我們是沉浸在一種享受中,在學(xué)習,效率也有了。這種在學(xué)習上課中的快樂(lè )享受瘦,不僅僅是在學(xué)校里,網(wǎng)課上,應該在各個(gè)地方。在學(xué)習英語(yǔ)這方面我也是深有體會(huì )。

  第一,我非常喜歡手機上有一個(gè)英語(yǔ)的PEP上面外教老師演的栩栩如生,讓我愛(ài)上學(xué)習,愛(ài)上英語(yǔ)雨。學(xué)完之后還可以得到獎勵,就很有榮譽(yù)感,而且這種榮譽(yù)感是別人體會(huì )不到的。

  在快樂(lè )中學(xué)習不是一種很好的選擇嗎?可以讓我們在快樂(lè )中學(xué)到知識,在快樂(lè )中學(xué)知識,這樣的'感覺(jué)真好。而且只是一種視覺(jué)上的享受。我也比較喜歡學(xué)校上的英語(yǔ)課,英語(yǔ)張老師把一門(mén)枯燥的語(yǔ)言課,上成了活靈活現的英語(yǔ)課,老師在課上不僅會(huì )教我們知識,還會(huì )給我們普及一些課外的,比如說(shuō)英語(yǔ)電影之類(lèi)一些東西。

  Is It Up to Students to Evaluate Teachers?

  The past few years have witnessed a mounting number of universities allowing students to evaluate their teachers and even decide if they can stay on their positions or not. To this practice, peoples attitudes differ considerably. Some applaud it warmly whereas others criticize and even condemn it harshly.

  Proponents of the practice may list the following reasons. In the first place, they assert that students are the people who know the most clearly about the teaching performance of a teacher, so they should have the say in evaluating him or her. In the second place, they contend that students have paid for their education, so they have the right to decide which teacher should be employed.

  Opponents, however, point out that it is dangerous to leave the right to students to evaluate teachers. For one thing, students may not know what ought to be taught and how it should be taught; they may only judge a teacher according to his temper and even accent or appearance. For another, in order to please students, some teachers may resort to some improper means.

  Personally, I believe that both views are justifiable, and we should achieve a balance between them by employing the evaluating approach in a reasonable and beneficial way. To be specific, students should be allowed to evaluate their teachers, but they may not be the only decision-maker in the teachers fate.

  隨著(zhù)四級考試的臨近,向來(lái)深為廣大學(xué)員所頭疼的作文問(wèn)題再次浮出水面。在四級考試中,如果學(xué)生作文得零分,那么即使前面得了滿(mǎn)分(即85分),其總成績(jì)仍將視為不及格。因此寫(xiě)好一篇文章對參加四級考試的學(xué)生來(lái)說(shuō)可謂至關(guān)重要,不容輕視。

  縱觀(guān)歷年來(lái)的考題,我們不難發(fā)現議論文占據著(zhù)七成以上的比例,因此首先我們要掌握議論文的寫(xiě)作要領(lǐng)。按照提綱進(jìn)行構思,務(wù)必做到寫(xiě)好每段的主題句和擴展句。主題句是表達段落主題的句子,它闡明一個(gè)段落的中心思想,是段落的核心,段落中的其他各句都與它緊密相連并圍繞它展開(kāi)。擴展句就是解釋或者說(shuō)明段落中心思想的句子。寫(xiě)擴展句時(shí)要注意條理性,比如引出三條不同的理由可以分別用:Firstofall,furthermore,thelastbutnottheleast。

  明確段落的寫(xiě)作思路之后,讓我們具體來(lái)看句子的寫(xiě)作?荚噷(shí)踐表明,多數考生在寫(xiě)作上的主要欠缺不是系統的`寫(xiě)作理論和方法,而是最基本的單句寫(xiě)作能力。有些同學(xué)因為對自身的實(shí)力缺乏自信所以考場(chǎng)上采取抄襲閱讀文章里的句子這種方法來(lái)湊字數。這種做法實(shí)不足取,因為一方面容易被改卷老師發(fā)現而認為該考生有偷懶的嫌疑,另一方面考生從閱讀文章里抄來(lái)的優(yōu)美句子和考生自己寫(xiě)的錯誤百出的句子拼湊在一起令文章整體有不和諧之感,從而令改卷老師懷疑該考生有作弊的嫌疑。通過(guò)句子寫(xiě)作這一關(guān),可參考如下步驟:

  1.確保句子的正確性,即準確表達思想而且沒(méi)有語(yǔ)法錯誤。以"Therebe"句型為例,錯誤的句子:Therearemanypeopleliketogotothemovies.正確表達:Therearemanypeoplewholiketogotothemovies.考生最容易犯的錯誤是在therebe之后又用了一個(gè)動(dòng)詞作謂語(yǔ),使句子結構出現嚴重錯誤。除了要小心避免語(yǔ)法錯誤外,我們也不能忽視作文中經(jīng)常出現的嚴重漢化的英語(yǔ),即中式英語(yǔ),比如:"Manisiron,andfoodissteel.","Womenarehalfsidesky."。如何克服漢化思維關(guān)鍵在于動(dòng)筆前先思考一下類(lèi)似的英文句式,并且注意諺語(yǔ)的翻譯不能隨心所欲,盡量找到規范的翻譯方式。

  2.注意句式的多樣性,語(yǔ)言生動(dòng)且富于變換才能最終打動(dòng)評卷老師從而獲得高分。不能從頭到尾都是Iam…,heis…,Ilike…,這樣的簡(jiǎn)單句。

  1)適當運用同位語(yǔ),Environmentalpollution,aphenomenonwhichlastedanumberofyears,hasgrownmoreandmoreserious.推薦用于開(kāi)頭對核心名詞做出解釋。

  2)倒裝,Onlyinthiswaycanwesolvetheproblem.建議最好使用在文章結尾處更顯得擲地有聲。

  3)無(wú)靈主語(yǔ),即沒(méi)有生命的東西充當主語(yǔ)。當我們要講述一個(gè)經(jīng)驗性的事實(shí)或者常理時(shí),不要過(guò)多使用“Ithinkthat”議論文中過(guò)多使用“I”容易影響文章的客觀(guān)性。使用無(wú)靈主語(yǔ)就可以解決這個(gè)問(wèn)題Pastexperiencehastaughtusthatweshouldnotdependonothersforeverything.(Pastexperience就是無(wú)靈主語(yǔ))

  4)排比,可以增強語(yǔ)言表達的力度和整個(gè)文章的氣勢。例如在95年1月的考題“Canmoneybuyhappiness”中運用排比就可以收到比較理想的效果。Manypeopledieformoney,lieformoney,fightformoney,andevenselltheirsoulstotheDevilformoney.

  以上是講述寫(xiě)好句子的方法,但因為考場(chǎng)上時(shí)間比較緊迫,所以建議考生務(wù)必在考前背誦一些常用的理由句以防在考場(chǎng)上臨時(shí)思路受阻而束手無(wú)策。如Itcanenrichourknowledgeandwidenourhorizon.或者Itcanincreasethegovernmentrevenueandrelievethepressureofunemployment.等等。
