基數詞 ： 表示數目的詞稱(chēng)為基數詞。其形式如下：

　�。�1）．從1——10 one，two，three，four，five，six，seven，eight，nine，ten．

　�。�2）．從 11——19 eleven，twelve， thirteen， fourteen， fifteen， sixteen， seventeen，eighteen， nineteen．

　　這里除 eleven， twelve， thirteen， fifteen， eighteen為特殊形式外，fourteen，sixteen，seventeen，nineteen都是由其個(gè)位數形式后添加后綴-teen構成。

　�。�3）．從 20——99 整數幾十中除twenty，thirty, forty，fifty，eighty為特殊形式外，sixty，seventy，ninety都是其個(gè)位數形式后添加后綴-ty構成。表示幾十幾時(shí)，在幾十和個(gè)位基數詞形式之間添加連字符“-” 21 twenty-one 76 seventy-six

　�。�4）．百位數個(gè)數基數詞形式加“hundred”，表示幾百，在幾十幾與百位間加上and．

　�。�5）．千位數以上 從數字的右端向左端數起，每三位數加一個(gè)逗號“，”。從右開(kāi)始，第一個(gè)“，”前的數字后添加 thousand，第二個(gè)“，”前面的數字后添加 million，第三個(gè)“，”前的數字后添加 billion。然后一節一節分別表示，兩個(gè)逗號之間最大的數為百位數形式。

　�。�6）．基數詞在表示確切的數字時(shí)，不能使用百、千、百萬(wàn)、十億的復數形式；但是，當基數詞表示不確切數字，如成百、成千上萬(wàn)，三三兩兩時(shí)，基數詞則以復數形式出現。

　　There are hundreds of people in the hall． 大廳里有數以百計的人。

　　Thousands and thousands of people come to visit the Museum of Qin Terra-Cotta Warriors and Horses every day． 每天有成千上萬(wàn)的人來(lái)參觀(guān)秦兵馬俑博物館。

　　復數形式

　　有時(shí)兩個(gè)復數形式的基數詞連用可寫(xiě)為： hundreds of thousands of , tens of hundreds of 等等。

　　They went to the theatre in twos and threes． 他們三三兩兩地來(lái)到了劇院。

　�。�7）．表示人的不確切歲數或年代，用幾十的復數形式表示。

　　He became a professor in his thirties． 他三十多歲時(shí)成為了教授。

　　She died of lung cancer in forties． 她四十來(lái)歲時(shí)死于肺癌。

　　It was in the 1960s． 那是在二十世紀六十年代。
