一、謹慎選擇推薦人。
一般來(lái)說(shuō)，推薦人要盡量選擇名氣大的推薦人，比如美國的招生院校就比較看重推薦人和被推薦人之間有過(guò)密切接觸和交流的，你可以選擇學(xué)院的院長(cháng)，學(xué)術(shù)研究帶頭人，或者是院士之類(lèi)的名人。
老師的話(huà)可以選擇任課老師中資格威望較高的，至于實(shí)習單位的推薦人可以選擇實(shí)習期間直接上司。
二、推薦信組成內容。
1、學(xué)習觀(guān)念和學(xué)習能力。
對頂尖的名校而言，面對兩個(gè)A等生，較好的學(xué)習成績(jì)并不能看出學(xué)生的.學(xué)習過(guò)程和學(xué)習觀(guān)念。
有的學(xué)生學(xué)習效率較低，但是，絕對勤奮刻苦;有的學(xué)生學(xué)習效率很高，掌握和消化知識的速度很快，然后騰出更多的時(shí)間去做其他有意義的事情。
所以，不同的學(xué)生有著(zhù)完全不同的學(xué)習方法，在推薦信中要表示出自己的優(yōu)勢。
2、學(xué)術(shù)好奇心和上進(jìn)心。
如果一個(gè)學(xué)生希望入讀文學(xué)專(zhuān)業(yè)，那么，招生官會(huì )關(guān)心學(xué)生在周末的時(shí)候會(huì )做什么。
會(huì )不會(huì )抓緊時(shí)間一周看一本文學(xué)名著(zhù)?會(huì )不會(huì )去圍繞某一個(gè)名家去做研究?會(huì )不會(huì )去找導師探討研究方法等等，錄取官需要看到學(xué)生是否有濃郁的學(xué)術(shù)好奇心。
3、綜合素質(zhì)和發(fā)展空間。
在推薦信中要表現出學(xué)生是各方面綜合發(fā)展的，并不是埋首故紙堆、固執己見(jiàn)的窮學(xué)究。
錄取官希望從推薦信中尋找到學(xué)生發(fā)展空間的線(xiàn)索，預想在四年甚至更遙遠的成長(cháng)空間。
三、堅守真實(shí)性原則。
雖說(shuō)要盡量顯示自己的優(yōu)點(diǎn)，但也不可把自己塑造成“圣人”，要有一定的真實(shí)，即合理寫(xiě)作，體現申請者合理的優(yōu)勢和特征。
在寫(xiě)作風(fēng)格上也不要全用套話(huà)，盡量寫(xiě)一些合理的評價(jià)語(yǔ)言，可以通過(guò)一個(gè)具體地事例來(lái)體現這些特質(zhì)，并且一定是推薦人和申請者之間的事例。
