1. on time “準時(shí)”，是指“不早不晚正好在指定或約定之時(shí)間做某事”。例如：

The train arrived on time. 火車(chē)準時(shí)到達。

試比較in time（及時(shí)）：表示“來(lái)得及在指定或預定時(shí)間前做某事”。因此可以得出：in time所表示的時(shí)間比on time要早一些。例如：

He came here in time to attend the meeting. 他及時(shí)趕到這里開(kāi)會(huì )。

2. hurry up 在意思上相當于be quick，意思是“快一點(diǎn)兒；趕快”，通常用于祈使句中。例如：

Hurry up, or we'll be late. 快點(diǎn)，不然我們會(huì )遲到的。

如果用于句中，則只用hurry。例如：

If you don't hurry, you'll be late for the meeting. 如果你不快一點(diǎn)兒，開(kāi)會(huì )你就會(huì )遲到的。

3. agree with 的意思是“同意……的意見(jiàn)（想法）；符合；一致”。它既可對事，也可對人。例如：

I agree with you. 我贊同你的觀(guān)點(diǎn)。

I'm so sorry to say that his words do not agree with his actions. 說(shuō)來(lái)遺憾，他的言行不一致。

4. next to 表示“在……的旁邊；緊接著(zhù)”的意思。例如：

Henry is sitting near the window, next to me. 亨利正坐在靠窗口的地方，緊挨著(zhù)我。

He is in the shop next to the corner. 他在緊貼拐角的那個(gè)商店里。

next to還可以引申表示順序、程度等的連接，常譯成“在……的后面；僅次于”。例如：

The man came first, and next to him was the old man. 那個(gè)人走在前面，緊跟著(zhù)他的是那位老人。

Which is the city next to London in size? 規模僅次于倫敦的城市是哪一個(gè)呢？

同時(shí)，next to還可以表示“幾乎”的意思。例如：

It's next to impossible to drive in this traffic. 交通這樣擁擠，簡(jiǎn)直無(wú)法開(kāi)車(chē)。

5. Here is a card for you with our best wishes. 這里有一張賀卡送給您，并向您致以最好的祝愿。

本句型是：Here + 動(dòng)詞 + 名詞主語(yǔ)。例如：

Here comes the bus. 公共汽車(chē)來(lái)了。

如果主語(yǔ)是代詞，則該句型變成：Here + 代詞主語(yǔ) + 動(dòng)詞。例如：

Here we are. 我們到了。 （完）
