Then there came one thing lately, which made mom herself admit that she was wrong. The fact goes like this. Although mom loves me, she doesn’t like girls. So she wanted all along to have a boy.
But what she did violated the birth control policy of China. She was seriously condemned. It seemed that mom’s dream of having a boy had come to nothing. Mom, I really thought you were right at the beginning, but I was wrong.

幾年以前，我對英語(yǔ)那叫什么都不會(huì )，就連yes和no都學(xué)了幾學(xué)期才學(xué)會(huì )，就在一個(gè)暑假，老爸把我送進(jìn)補習班去學(xué)英語(yǔ)。那時(shí)的我百分之一百比愿不愿意去學(xué)習，認為大人們剝奪了我的自由。
剛開(kāi)始，我不愿意學(xué)。老師見(jiàn)我這樣，就想出一個(gè)辦法來(lái)。剛剛學(xué)習完第一課，老師馬上考試，因為我上課不聽(tīng)講，所以我連最簡(jiǎn)單的二十六個(gè)字母都默寫(xiě)不來(lái)。最終得了個(gè)“大鴨蛋”，老師給其他同學(xué)都發(fā)了獎品，就我沒(méi)有，還被罵了一頓。
后來(lái)我為了得到獎品，我開(kāi)始學(xué)習起英語(yǔ)來(lái)。后來(lái)的那股子認真勁我都不知道那里來(lái)的，可能是為了得到獎品吧!
從逼著(zhù)上學(xué)到積極上學(xué);從一回家就玩到一回家就聽(tīng)磁帶，為了背誦一篇課文，往往要花好幾個(gè)小時(shí)的.時(shí)間去聽(tīng)讀，背誦。
