本單元圍繞“Ability”這一主題及“Joining a club”這一話(huà)題展開(kāi)聽(tīng),說(shuō),讀,寫(xiě)等多種教學(xué)活動(dòng)。培養學(xué)生能力是當今素質(zhì)教育的重要內容,也是一個(gè)非常貼近生活,非常具有時(shí)代性和可挖掘性的教學(xué)主題。它符合學(xué)生的認知水平,在學(xué)生中有較強的認同感。在Section A中,學(xué)生可以通過(guò)談?wù)摶蛟?xún)問(wèn)彼此在某方面的能力以及喜好與意愿,學(xué)習新單詞及情態(tài)動(dòng)詞can的用法。在Section B中,又增加了談?wù)撘魳?lè )才能方面的單詞,設計了相關(guān)的聽(tīng)力練習,提供了招聘廣告給學(xué)生學(xué)習閱讀和寫(xiě)作。因此,在整個(gè)教學(xué)中,教師應突出以話(huà)題為綱,交際功能為主線(xiàn),精心設計各種任務(wù),以任務(wù)為載體,搭建意義交流的舞臺。通過(guò)教學(xué),使學(xué)生對自己的能力充滿(mǎn)自信。對于他人的才能則要持客觀(guān)和欣賞的態(tài)度。從而可以實(shí)現自我的快樂(lè )成長(cháng)。也可以和周?chē)娜私⒑椭C融洽的關(guān)系。

1. 通過(guò)本單元的學(xué)習,學(xué)生能聽(tīng)懂描述某人在某一方面所具備的才能的句子和對話(huà);能口頭描述某人在某一方面所具備的才能及談?wù)撟约旱南埠门c意愿;采訪(fǎng)同學(xué)們對現有課外活動(dòng)小組的看法;能讀懂描述某人在某一方面所具備的才能的對話(huà)和簡(jiǎn)單文章;會(huì )寫(xiě)招聘廣告及制作各種俱樂(lè )部海報。

Show Ss the pictures and help Ss to understand the new words. Help them to say what the person is doing in the picture. Ask Ss to read the new words, and make sure that everyone can understand the meanings and read them correctly. Then use the new words to ask Ss questions.
T: Can you dance/swim/sing/draw/play chess/speak English/play the guitar?
S: Yes, I can./No I can’t.
